The room is dark. There was blue and indigo fire everywhere; she was panicked, and the body on the ground sent fear through her spine. She looks up into a pair of shining green eyes. They watched her, captivating, but sparkling in the firelight. Right underneath those eyes was a malicious grin. He raises a hand and sparks up a violet fire. It suddenly felt like the room was starting to boil. He smiles wider, showing his gleaming white teeth, before lunging at her.
Calix woke up with a start, breathing hard. She looks around fast and hops out of bed. Her grandmother is probably already awake and cleaning, judging by how the sun was starting to peak over the horizon. She tries to distract her mind from focusing on every little detail of that dream. But she can’t understand it. She had never seen a fire that color before. That beautiful violet color, like the violets in the capital flower beds. She had been there with her mother before when she was little.
Her throat closes up for a moment, the thought of her mother always making her emotional. She reminds herself she’ll have more time to mourn when her life is over. As grandma would say, “Some things are more important than mourning. While you shouldn’t hide your emotions, you shouldn’t learn to let them control your own life. That’s not their job, that’s your job.”
She shakes her head a little, trying to shake the uncomfortable thoughts out of her head. It was a habit since she was a little kid. She heads to the small bathroom she shared in this house with her grandmother, and she washes her face and teeth. She changes into a relatively clean white tunic and jeans. She pulls on her boots and walks outside. Her eyes search for her grandmother, whom she finds scrubbing pots in the pond near their house.

P.S.- a little note, I think this might also work as a 1st person story, but in a genuine, HONEST opinion, please vote! :) I'm happy with either choice,e I just want to know which is more enjoyable for readers.
Pls be honest, I enjoy both!
1st Person! :) (as if told by Calix herself, with "I")
3rd Person! (continued narrating from the objective view)
